Referral Sources

MRC serves individuals with disabilities or other barriers that include physical, visual, hearing, mental health, chemical health, or any other disability group focusing on indiviudals who are able to work competitively. MRC also works with immigrants and refugees and people with limited income or transitioning from public assistance to self-sufficiency. Fees are attached to each service an individual participates in or the service is part of a grant and costs for those services are covered by grant funds.

MRC offers services in the following areas:

MRC Evaluation and Asssessment Services began in 1960 and continue to focus on consumer assessments to determine employment potentials.

MRC Training and Education Services began in 1985 in Minneapolis and since then has expanded its services to include training centers in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Burnsville, Duluth and St. Cloud, as well as mobile training and education services throughout the upper Midwest. MRC utilizes the expertise of its 70+ business partners throughout Minnesota to desig new and revise existing curridulum for state of the art training.

MRC Employment Services are customized to fit the needs of each client. Services include Job Readiness Skill Building Packets, job clubs, employment-related discussions and one-to-one counseling. Clients placed through MRC are followed post-placement to ensure job stability.

MRC Retention and Disability Services began offering job-retention support to clients through Certified Extended Employment Services in 1987 and added a full range of support services in 1991 that includes Worksite Support, Case Managment Services, Job Site Anlaysis and Ergonomic Assessments, and Independent Living Skills.*

  • MRC works closely with the business community to develop its training courses to ensure they fit the needs of the changing Minnesota workplace and has over 70 business partners who assist with developing curriculum, offering work readiness training courses and assisting your clients with securing competitive employment with career advancement potential.

  • Your client will receive individualized services by a highly skilled and effectively trained staff.
  • You will receive a progress report monthly and at the end of each service completed.
  • Your client will receive continuing education units for courses completed that may be converted to credits at some other state postsecondary schools that MRC has an articulation agreement with.
  • Your client will be followed by an MRC staff person for an extended period of time to ensure the job is a good fit and to assist them with any job retention issues that may come up.
  • Your client will gain the exact skills needed in the current work place because MRC Business Partners assist with the development of training curriculum.
